Extended Bulk Charging for Larger Systems

The IQ-40-Hour delivers an extended BULK charge for large lead-acid batteries with high Amp-Hour ratings.

After the BULK charge, it reverts to the standard ABSORPTION, FLOAT, and MAINTENANCE modes.

Charging Profile

The IQ-40-HOUR takes the following steps to charge your battery:

BULK (EXTENDED)­
During the Bulk charge, the battery is charged at an optimal voltage level. This reduces the overall charging time of the battery.
FLOAT­
During the Float mode, the IQ4 reduces the DLS charge voltage. This reduced voltage allows the battery to maintain a full charge and prevents 'gassing'. The float mode also prevents the battery from boiling and bulging, which is caused when the battery is exposed to a high voltage for a long period of time.
MAINTENANCE­
If the battery has been in Float mode for 7 days, the IQ4 will switch the DLS charger into a pre-programmed Maintenance mode. This protects the life of your battery by dissolving any sulfate on the battery's internal plates and avoids stratification that can occur when a battery has not been in use for a long time.

Installation

Simply plug the IQ Smart Charge Controller into the Dual Voltage Jack* of your IOTA DLS Battery Charger.

The IQ Smart Charge circuitry and the IQ module will then activate automatically, allowing your DLS to charge your batteries, trouble-free!

*Location of the Dual Voltage Jack may vary depending on the IOTA DLS model

Note: External IOTA IQ Smart Charge Controllers are not compatible with DLS chargers with internal IQ charge control.
